Common questions

How Fast We Get to You

Response speed is usually the first thing people want settled.

Are you really open 24/7?

We are, including weekends and public holidays. Whoever picks up the phone at 2am is a licensed plumber, not a call centre reading from a script.

What counts as a drain emergency?

Sewage rising back into a sink, shower or toilet bowl, or water pooling around an outdoor floor waste with nowhere to go. Anything affecting your home's ability to function safely is worth a same-day call rather than waiting it out.

How fast can you get here?

On-site in 30 minutes guaranteed for North Sydney call-outs. It's a firm number we stand behind, not a best-case guess.

How do I book online?

Fill in the form on this site, or ring (02) 9134 9059 if you'd rather talk it through first. Booking through the website is also how the $50 off gets applied automatically.

Common questions

Pricing, Straight Up

Money questions, answered without a sales pitch.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Never. $0 call-out fee on every visit, plus a free, no-obligation quote before you commit to anything.

How does the 10% seniors discount work?

Flag it when you call or book and we take it straight off the invoice. There's no separate form and nothing to apply for in advance.

What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?

A straight $50 reduction on the final bill for jobs booked through this website instead of by phone. It's on top of the fixed price, not a substitute for it.

How do quotes work?

We look at the job, walk you through what needs doing, and put one figure on the table before any tools come out. Nothing changes on that number once you've said yes.

Common questions

Working in and Around North Sydney

The questions that come from actually knowing the area, not just servicing it.

Do you work on strata and apartment blocks?

Often. North Sydney's stock of high-rise towers and older walk-up blocks means shared drainage lines and body corporate sign-off come up regularly, and we know how to work within both.

How local are you, really?

North Sydney and its neighbours are our regular run, not an occasional detour. Crows Nest, Cammeray, Neutral Bay, Waverton and Kirribilli all get the same crew.

Do tree roots really get into pipes here?

They do, especially near St Leonards Park and the mature street trees nearby. Roots find their way into the joints of older drain lines, and it's a frequent reason a North Sydney drain keeps backing up. Federation-era terraces near Napier Street and the walk-ups closer to Greenwood Plaza often sit on the same old clay stock, which is why spring renovation season tends to be when hidden root damage finally surfaces.

What suburbs do you service?

North Sydney, Crows Nest, Cammeray, Neutral Bay, Waverton and Kirribilli. If you're anywhere near that stretch, we're already close by.

Common questions

Licensing and Responsibility

The legal and practical questions worth knowing before we arrive.

Do wipes really block drains?

Every time, whatever the packet claims about being flushable. They knot up in the pipe instead of dissolving, and they're behind a large share of the blocked toilets we get called to.

Can I clear a blocked drain myself?

Try a plunger first on a single fixture, that's harmless enough. Steer clear of chemical cleaners and hired electric eels though, since both can split old clay pipework, and any real drainage work in NSW needs a licensed plumber by law.

What warranty do I get?

Our labour carries a lifetime warranty. If it fails, we return free, no arguments.

What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?

It's the grated pit at ground level near your house, built to let sewage spill outside safely rather than back up into your home. Water sitting in it or overflowing is often the earliest warning sign of trouble further down the line.
